Growing in Unity Day one

Welcome Unity friends....I am so excited to be sharing with you again this year creations I have made using images from Unity Stamp Company!!!

Today I thought it would be fun to share with you how you can use some packaged cards and add some stamping to them to create unique one of a kind greetings.

I picked up these two different font style thank you cards from Michael's around the end of the year.  The paper is very gritty like a watercolor paper, so they were perfect for this project.  Here is what they looked like beforehand:

I then stamped this bird from the Love the Little Things KOTM June 2013 in Stazon ink onto each card.

I then colored the image with  Derwent Inktense Pencils and used a waterbrush to move the colors around and blend them to create the background. I love how these pencils allow you to create fun and unique backgrounds so easily.

I hope this project has you looking at packaged plain cards a bit differently from here on.  It really is a fun way to create unique one of a kind greetings!

Until tomorrow...have an awesome day!!!

Another Coffee Lovers Bloghop project

It's time for my third project for the hop...

love all the projects shared on the Coffee Lovers Bloghop!!

This is another image we received as a freebie in a prior Coffee Lovers Bloghop, but there isn't a name attached to the file.

For this one I printed the image on white cardstock and then colored it with my Prismacolor pencils.  I decided to add the polkadots to the coffee sleeve so it looked more realistic.  I then added it to the cardbase using foam tape.  The cardbase was covered with this fun worn paint looking pattern paper.  I then added the sentiment sticker.

I hope you'll make some time to play along if you can...

Another coffee card for ya....

It's time for my second project for the hop...

love all the projects shared on the Coffee Lovers Bloghop!!

For this project I used the freebie from the Rise and Shine set by Verve Stamps!  Love the images and had to color up this one straight away.  I used my Prismacolor pencils on it and gave it a kind of desert color scheme...so looking forward to the colors of spring starting to show up here and there...

I hope you'll pull out some warm beverage images and color up something to share...

Time for the Spring Coffee Lovers Hop!!!

It's that time again...and I wouldn't miss it...

For my card I am using one of the freebie images we received in a prior hop.  Unfortunately my file has the following name on it and I can't seem to figure out who created this wonderful image:  dtc lizzie freebie.  If you happen to know the source of this image please let me know so I can properly tag it...

I've been working with my Prismacolor pencils a lot lately and coloring while my youngest is at her guitar lesson.  This week I worked on this image and am pleased with how it turned out.  I added it to this great floral pattern paper and then added the sentiment across the front using these cute pink brads!

Pull out something warm drink related and jump in and play along...  all the details can be found on the blog post here.

Time for a challenge

It's time for the February challenge at the Chalk N Stock blog.  As always...just use chalk on your project and you could win some wonderful free images from Bugaboo.

For my project I used this cute Ruby Calendar Months - February image:

She is colored with colored pencils and the background and the edging is done with chalks.  I think Ruby is the coolest!!  I added all the extra doodling so the focus of the card would be on her!

So...pull out your chalks and join in the fun this month.  Details can be found on the blog post here.

Some catching up to do

Wow...it's been a while since I posted here on my blog.  We've been busy with house projects and kid things....and most recently pet troubles (a certain fluffy dog got skunked)...  Wind storms took out both sides of the back fencing...one was repairable...the other now needs to be completely replaced.  So being artistic has taken a bit of a back seat on my blog, but that doesn't mean I haven't been creating...because I have been doing things here and there.

Here are some projects I have done recently that were shared elsewhere...

This is a Bugaboo image that was colored with Spectrum Noir pencils and chalk.

Three's a charm

Here is my third card for the Winter Coffee Lover's Blog Hop.

The wonderful super sponsor Craftin' Desert Divas offered up this adorable Java Fox image and I couldn't resist.  We wanted to do something nice for my daughter's guitar teacher...so I put together this heavy fruit basket and then used the fox to make this card.

So you can find all the details on the hop on their blog post...try and create something and link up...it's so much fun!!!  (and you can get some of your holiday cards done in the process!)

Winter Coffee Lovers Blog Hop

It's take two for me with the Winter Coffee Lovers Blog Hop!

For my second card I used the fantastic Coffee Lover Mae image for my card...

I colored her with my Copic markers.  I then backed her onto green cardstock and then onto a card that I added a strip of pattern paper to.  I made the cute coffee mug sentiment on my computer, printed it out, and added it to my image.

I hope you will join in the fun and link up a project...

It's time for a Hol-ODD-Day blog hop!

Here we come a caroling... no wait,

we are having a Hol-ODD-Day blog hop!

All the ODD 'elves' have been busy creating some Hol-ODD-Day goodies to share with you. There are so many ah-mazing holiday stamps to choose from in the SOG shop, including the latest, Christmas Prank digi.

Ready to read the hop rules.... leave a comment on each ODD girl's blog post for a special chance to win a $25 gift certificate, plus there will be some extra $5 winners too. Winners will be announced on Saturday Dec 17th. BUT, everyone can enjoy the gift of 25% OFF in the shop with the code HOLODDDAY!

For my project I used the wonderful Santa's List Tia image:

I added the thought bubble and items to the list before I printed the image out.  I then chalked the background behind Tia so the white really popped.  The entire image was then colored with Copics.  I added some gold glitter pen to the jingle bell on her neck and the metal on toy train.

Be sure to keep hopping along to Kristy's blog as your final stop on the hop...

It's time for the 2016 Winter Coffee Lovers Blog Hop

It's time for the Winter Coffee Lovers Blog Hop.  I am so excited to participate in this hop...it's been so fun to watch how big the hop has grown over time.

For my first card I used this wonderful image from Some Odd Girl titled Coffee Piper...isn't she perfect...

I colored her with my Copic markers.  I used the same four shades of brown and yellow to color all of the image except for the mug.  I wanted to challenge myself to make a more mono-chromatic look.  I then backed her with some brown cardstock and put her on this wonderful winter pattern paper with snowflakes.

I hope you like her....and maybe check back tomorrow for an Odd-hop featuring wonderful holiday images from Some Odd Girl...and maybe another coffee themed card or two from me later in the week...
